I have been working on the pictured cosplay for at least a year and a half. That smile on my face? It was present all day as I was so excited to finally have it all on.
Packed into the (thankfully) air conditioned arena next to the Oncenter in Syracuse, we found it difficult to move around during the high points of the day. And I can only hope when we took a break and my friends headed up into the stands that I did not end up flashing the entire convention in my tiny skirt for Moeka. (These things make me nervous, you know?)
Still, I found the entire weekend enjoyable, bar me yelling at my teenage charges for their restlessness in the car. I was sure to stop at the couple of author tables to check out what they had and collect cards.
The biggest downside to my weekend was that PETA was waiting outside the convention centre both days. As an animal welfare scientist, PETA is the ISIS to someone with my degree and I nearly shredded a pamphlet they handed one of my friends. I’m not going to lie, I did consider chasing them off the corner, but managed to restrain myself from doing so.
